Scientist 70 Folding Snow Saw

Our scientist snow saws come with a thin kerf on the teeth to leave a smooth finish. Perfect for aspiring and professional snow scientists who need a clean cut so variations in the snowpack aren’t obscured by a rough finish.

Made of stainless steel for strength and durability, this saw folds down from almost 32-inches to only 18. Imperial and metric rulers are etched on either side along with snow crystal identification grids in1mm, 2mm, and 3mm patterns. With a pair of our polyurethane ski straps you can attach this blade to our shovel shafts or ski poles to extend its reach.

Available in right- and left-handed versions.

  I have used this saw for most of last season and I love it! Its so nice to have a long saw for the ECT and PST without carrying a giant monstrosity in my pack, or having to assemble something. The carrying case is tough enough to protect the contents of your pack, while being lightweight and minimal. This is the only saw I carry most days I am out guiding.
