The Brooks-Range Pocket Snow Water Equivalency Gauge is the optimum tool for in the field measurement of both snow water equivalency (SWE) and snow density (SD). It is useful for assessing the rate of snow metamorphism, new snow quality, snow pit data, precipitation rates, slab information, and snow moisture content. Thatís why Brooks-Range SD/SWE Gauge is the professionalís choice because itís accurate to within a gram, compact, lightweight, and causes minimal disturbance to the snow being sampled. It is the only snow water equivalency gauge that is usable in the field with real time intantaneous results. This in-the-field capability allows for multiple sampling resulting in extremely accurate testing results and analysis. The transparent 250cc sampling tube is made from a hi-tech polymer that will saw through ice layers, insulates the snow from the warmth of your hand, and is made tough to last for years. The sampling tube is engineered to minimize snow sampling compression which distorts sampling results. A conversion chart calibrated to the sample size lets you determine SWE from the weight of the sample. Our specially designed electronic scale measures the weight, accurate to within a gram, up to a maximum of 1 kg. (2.2 lbs). In english, itís accurate to five hundredths of an ounce. The electronic scale is designed to be nested inside the collection tube for comapact and easy storage.
